Portsmouth celebrates 100 Years as a city in 2026.

Our "terraced" houses are a special part of our local identity.
In order to celebrate Portsmouth's 100 years of city status we decided to celebrate the city’s characteristic buildings - its terraced houses!
From early March to early October members and members of the public sent photos of their favourite houses to the Portsmouth Society as a record of how the city looked in its 100th year as a city.
This means we have a small snapshot of what the city looked like in 2026 for future years!
We have built a slideshow of these images. This can be downloaded and seen in the embedded movie version below the gallery of a small selection of images sent in in early March.
